Father Michael PflegerFather Michael Pfleger is a radical social activist Roman Catholic priest who serves as pastor of the predominantly African-American Saint Sabina Church on the South Side of Chicago. Born in Chicago in 1949, Pfleger attended the Archbishop Quigley Preparatory Seminary South, Loyola University and the University of Saint Mary of the Lake. He was ordained a priest for the Archdiocese of Chicago on May 14, 1975. Since 1981, he has served as pastor of Saint Sabina Church. While he has engaged in a number of laudatory efforts to combat crime, drugs, and immorality in his Chicago neighborhood, he also collaborated with a variety of radical black activists and religious figures, including Louis Farrakhan, Jeremiah Wright, Jesse Jackson, and Cornell West. Essentially, Pfleger is an advocate of liberation theology, the radical religious philosophy that substitutes a Marxist economic, political and social activism for the church’s role in personal salvation. In this sense, his views are very much in sympathy with those of Barack Obama who, as a novice community organizer in the Saul Alinsky mold, joined Trinity United Church of Christ to advance his far-left political agenda. Pfleger gained national notoriety during the 2008 presidential primary season with his over the top guest sermon at Jeremiah’s Wright’s Trinity United Church of Christ in which he mocked Hillary Clinton. Adopting an extreme and inflammatory preaching style, Pfleger said, "I really believe that she just always thought, 'This is mine. I'm Bill's wife. I'm white, and this is mine. I just gotta get up and step into the plate.' Then out of nowhere came, 'Hey, I'm Barack Obama,' and she said, 'Oh, damn! Where did you come from? I'm white! I'm entitled! There's a black man stealing my show!'" He then pretended to wipe tears from his face, a reference to Senator Clinton's emotional speech before the New Hampshire primary, and added, "She wasn't the only one crying. There was a whole lot of white people crying." On May 25, 2007, Father Pfleger invited noted racist and anti-Semite preacher Louis Farrakhan to give a guest sermon as Saint Sabina. Pfleger has also famously exhibited an inability to control his emotions. During a protest at a local gun shop, Pfleger threatened to “snuff out” both the shop owner and the state legislators who opposed gun control legislation. Pfleger’s photo and testimonial were posted on Barack Obama’s presidential campaign web site. Pfleger gave Obama political contributions of between $1,500 and $2,000 between 1995 and 2001. In April, 2001, he gave Obama $200, this a few months after his church’s programs received state grants of $225,000 with Obama’s intervention. This quid pro quo is a glaring example of how Democratic politicians use our own tax dollars to finance their partisan political campaigns. Pfleger is just another radiacal in Barack Obama's corner.
