Health Care Information
While I think we all agree that health insurance could be better, none of the versions on health "care" are good.
The truth about why the AMA, AARP, the drug industry and insurance companies support ObamaCare.
It is imperative that we all contact our senators and congressman NOW. In contacting them, choose 2 or 3 talking points, such as those listed
below and be specific. If you can personalize it (such as "My Aunt Susan lives in Canada and ...), so much the better.
We don't need a public option that competes with private health insurance. With a government-run plan, they can under price insurance companies, and that will cause them to fold, since they cant compete on a level playing field. That will leave one option: government.
We don't want standards of care based on age.
We don't want rationing of health care.
We don't want government-funded abortions.
We don't want insurance coverage for illegal aliens. While they should be treated for emergencies, they should not be eligible for health insurance.
We DO need tort reform to limit medical liabilities for malpractice, thereby lowering costs for doctors and hospitals. This, in turn, will lower patient/ insurance costs.
Allow everyone to obtain health insurance from any company they choose - not just those allowed in their state. This will increase competition, thereby lowering premiums.
Everyone, including congress and all government employees, must use the same health care as they vote for.
It is unconstitutional to force someone to have health insurance.
Medicare is government-run and it is nearly broke, as is is social security. The government-run post office is nearly broke, so is government-run Amtrak. What makes you think you can take care of my health and that of my family when you can't run anything else?
My doctor and I know what's best for my family's health, not a government bureaucrat.
Approximately 80% of Americans are satisfied with their current health care. Can't you just address the other 20%? Why buy a whole new car, when only a tire needs replacing?
any other issue of concern to you.
Finally, calling works better than writing. An e-mail could well end up in the trash, but if you talk with a person, your message will be more meaningful. When you call, always be polite and make your points in an even tone. If you come across as intelligent and have good points, they will listen to you. If you yell, use profanity, or call them stupid, they will tune you out.
After contacting your representatives, contact those from other states who may be on the fence. Even if they are not in your state, they are voting on legislation that affects everyone!

Let's burn their phone lines, fax lines and in-boxes from now until the final vote!
